Our Lovely Auntie Jill
Our first meeting as little girls
on our first visit from SA,
We adored you from the very start
for your extra special way.
You had a way of making us all feel special
Always loving to hear our views,
Always finding little things we’d enjoy
and eager to hear our news.
How we loved to sit with you
as we all got made up and ready,
Sitting together at your dressing table
With hairbrushes and makeup at the ready
The little things, no time to much
You cherished us your little nieces,
You showed us what real family means
and loved us both to pieces.
Family always at your heart
Ties that bind, so strong, so true.
Memories and values all combined
Family traditions made along with you.
How you loved to party and
always so beautifully turned out,
and how we loved to be with you
To laugh and “Twist and Shout”.
A special caring way with Children
Drawn to you like bees,
Auntie Jill's was a special place
A place we couldn't wait to be
You did so many things for us
your heart so kind so true,
and when we needed someone
we could always count on you.
School holidays we loved
Summer holidays spent with you,
Wonderful tasty dinners
and stylish new haircuts too.
We could never keep up with your pace
You taught us how to really shop,
Finding the latest fashions
Until we were fit to drop.
So stylish, so glam, so fun,
All our friends they loved you too,
Wow your so lucky you girls
Your Auntie Jill's so cool!.
As we grew up and made our way in life
You were always there,
Listening to our many tales
That with you, we loved to share
The most wonderful of cooks
The many meals we shared with you,
Cooked and served with loving care
As Jill, Only you could do.
And when our chosen young men came along
You welcomed them with open arms,
Seeing what we loved in them
and recognising their great charms.
You made them feel so special
They way you always did with us,
You fed them up on tasty family dishes
And made a special fuss.
Have another spoon you'd say
Go on "just a little one"
How could we say no thanks Auntie Jill
With food just so wonderful!.
Good times, Good food, Good music
Family dinners, always the perfect host,
Being together as a family
What you and we loved most.
Sitting in your beautiful home
Listening to the uncles sing the ole London songs
Part of our treasured family tradition
We will forever be the London girls!
A smile and laugh that lit the room
Singing night and day, as only you could do,
How we all loved to sing and dance
the many nights away.
Big brown eyes that looked on us with love
So vibrant and so alive,
And always smelling so beautiful
In sweet scents of Chanel No. 5.
Memorable days spent in the garden
Surrounded by beautiful flowers blowing in the breeze,
how we loved to pop in to visit you
For Bacon buttes and Gin and T’s.
Always there for us,
In good times and in bad
Supportive and caring
A tender heart,So Compassionate and Kind.
As new additions joined our family
you sat our little ones on your knee,
how they loved their Great Aunt Jill
As you cuddled them tenderly.
What joy we felt at the love
We saw in them and you,
Rejoicing in their every being
The love you felt shone through.
How blessed we felt
To see our Auntie Jill so dear,
Now take great nieces and nephews
under her loving wing.
The circle of Life my, was an extra precious thing.
Such delight listening to you talk about them all
with such love and care and pride,
and lovingly hanging all their pictures
Above the fireside.
A lifetime of Love you given us Auntie Jill
Which we now hope, we can in turn pass on
Now Aunties ourselves
We promise your Love will forever carry on.
We will teach them of Love and Family
and the memories and traditions laid
Of which you were so apart of
That together we have made.
We will tell them about the good times
and the ways you showed you cared,
The times we spent with you
and all the happiness we shared.
We will forever hold you close within our hearts,
And there you will always remain,
To walk with us throughout our lives
Until we meet again.

Twinkle Toes in Soft Pink Bows
(In memory of a wonderful sister)
Oh twinkle toes in soft pink bows
Fair-haired beauty of slender pose
Sweet city flower to Country Rose
Prettier in tone than any wistful prose
Oh shining star our guiding light
So unreserved and without spite
Still wild, free, calm raging sea
Bristling honour forth and liberty
Morning sunshine, summer rain
London angel, quaint country lane
Inspired creation, bright ideas
Tall and proud, yet never vain
Taught us how to laugh and play
Be party people, live life today
Believe in love, and in ourselves
Little brother, you would say
C&A, Woolworth, BHS,
Dorothy Perkins, M&S
Nip into Kay’s… then into Next,
On ‘special’ at Tesco’s? Well I’ll be blessed!
Second-hand alley and bargains galore
What a snip - lets find some more!
Oh blimey, how our feet would ache
Perhaps some coffee… and bit of cake?
My Gin and tonic, supersonic
Ever-giving, must crack on
What’d y’ fancy, prefer-organic,
Kitchen-loving, Gastronom
Catered for all, cooked for one
In the oven – soon be done
Chicken korma, Rogan Josh
“Now there plenty more…” oh golly gosh!
Mobile stylist, scissor-hands
A quick trim… just clip the ends?
Layer, feather, take-off a tinge
A College-boy, but leave the fringe
Highlights, lowlights, or French crew cut
Short at the sides, long at the back
Oh my goodness you’re going thin…
Try some Pantene – just rub it in!
Campions champion, or cross-country cheat?
Stop-off for coffee and bite to eat
Tag-on behind tired laggards feet
Past our house in the final heat
Full of beans, larking, full of fun
We’d laugh and joke, and enjoy the sun
The homework you done was never late
No, never one to procrastinate
Busy bee, Dancing Queen
Hit the road, bright lights, dig the scene
I close my eyes and hear your voice
Sing Picture book my favorite choice
You lived your magic carpet ride
And played the game of life to win
If growing older was a sin
Oh what trouble we’d all be in
Islington Angel, Borehamwood gal
Built us up, kept us well
Took us in, waifs and strays
Friend-savior-sister, Bedfordshire Belle
Whatever, whenever, no ifs-nor-buts
Its decided now, no tiny tuts
Needle and cotton, elastic rubber-band,
Always there – with an outstretched hand
Pure of mind and sound in soul
Such passion, presence, go for goal
Day turns to night, time takes its toll
But girl, you gave it rock n´roll
So through the tears, I can’t be sad
As I remember all those laughs we had
Sing again in heaven with Mum and Dad
Good bless, sweet dreams, sleep tight. X.
